In a new exhibition, the Birmingham Museum of Art is pairing with The Do Good Fund to bring photographs from the South to the museum. Lauren Henkin, a photographer, produced a large portfolio for the museum. Fifteen of the photographs were selected for the exhibit, What’s Lost is Found, which opened on November 4, 2016.

The photographs were taken in Hale County, and the photographer, though a native of Maine, felt a pull to Alabama. The exhibit, curated by Wassan Al-Khudhairi, Hugh Kaul Curator of Modern and Contemporary Art, will close on April 30, 2017.
